I met Cheryls at the 2019 DAG Winters Songwriters Retreat in Nundle NSW, (near Tamworth) when I decide to invest in myself as a songwriter. We didn’t really talk until the last day, but she gave me an amazing insight (and her philosophy) into being deliberate in the track listings of albums. Naively, I always thought it was random!
Over the years we kept in touch through messaging, occasionally reaching out for advice and feedback on songs or song ideas and the natural evolution of co-writing together (online and LATE at night) found a place in our lives.
In September 2023, she released her third album The Wolf Cried Girl and our co-write called “Taking Your Home” sits at number 2 on the track list. It’s a dark track that we’re both proud of as it resulted in many deep conversations about someone’s murderous mindset.
